The Rotary Club of Grantham has launched a new Worldwide project to help raise money for Polio Plus, the Rotary campaign to eradicate Polio. RotaryGlobalSwimarathon. Visit our web site to find our more It takes place on the 25th February 2012. at 12:00 to 13:00 GMT We are asking Rotary Clubs, businesses, organisations, schools, scouts etc to organise a mini Swimarathon. The project is to raise money to defeat Polio world wide, and also set a new world record for the most number of people swimming 100 metres within one hour. The event is timed to take place at 12 noon GMT all around the world (so an early morning swim in New Zealand !) and our local event will be held at The Meres Leisure Centre, Grantham - be there! The Rotary Club of Grantham: RotarySwimarathon 2011

The 2011 and 22nd RotarySwimarathon - one of the biggest fund raising events of its kind in the UK is over and the final amount pledged at the close of plays is £37,121 a new record! This brings the total raised over the 22yrs to £516,511 - when allthe money is in for this year including Gift Aid the amounts may well go up by another £4,000!

A big, big thank you to all those who took part, to our Corporate Sponsors and to the hundreds of supporters that turned up over the three days - it was an absolutely fantastic event.

Thanks again and see you all next year. In the meantime, here is a short part one video clip produced by Gordon Seabrook of Cold Harbour Films.

Corporate Sponsorship has again been obtained which ensures that 90% of the monies raised by the swimmers will go to local charities and deserving causes and 10% to Rotary Club charities sponsoring local projects.
